Ud jayega hans akela .........so true ,we come with nothing ,go back empty handed .As a young girl ,i heard Kumar ji sing this song time and again .Each time it connoted a different meaning ,perhaps depending on my mood at that time .Then one day a yruly unbelievable opportunity cam my way .Sitting right belo wthe dias ,close to him ,I heard him.This perfomance took place very many years ago at Gandharva Mahavidyalaya ,his simplicity and extreme innovative rendition shook me completely .No wonder h provides me solace and comfort when I am insecure ,unhappy or just irritable .

Well Jiji! You really have been very fortunate that you had the Maestro teach you music for some time. In fact in my view all those who heard him sing live are very lucky and I feel that they had some very good karmas in their previous birth...and going by this parameter you make me envious.
I often tell my friends that if I ever have the opportunity to meet Mehdi Hasan I will readily wash his feet and drink the water! Really!
About the 'Ud jayeega...' powerful rendering with all the devotion! I hope you have also heard KG's ' Kaun dhagva nagariya lootal ho...'. If not it's strongly suggested.
